The weakness is caused due to an error in evolution-data-server when importing configuration settings, which can lead to Evolution e.g. trying to access IMAP folders via plain text connections instead of SSL/TLS protected connections, as originally specified. This can be exploited to e.g. disclose the username and password of the IMAP account by sniffing the network traffic via Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) attacks. SOLUTION: Fixed in evolution-data-server version 3.1.1. Manually verify imported settings. PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Reported in a Red Hat bug by Paul Ezvan.
