The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the "CtcpParser::packedReply()" method (src/core/ctcpparser.cpp) when processing Client-To-Client Protocol (CTCP) messages. This can be exploited to crash the central core process resulting in loss of IRC service for distributed clients. The vulnerability is reported in version 0.7.2. Other versions may also be affected.
