The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors within the "virtio_blk_handle_write()" and "virtio_blk_handle_read()" functions in hw/virtio-blk.c, which can be exploited to cause a buffer overflow by sending specially crafted read or write requests to the virtio-blk driver. The vulnerabilities are reported in version 0.14.0. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Fixed in the GIT repository.
