The logrotate utility does not properly handle symlinked files. This can be exploited to e.g. change the ownership and permissions of arbitrary files via symlink attacks. The security issue is confirmed in version 3.7.9. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Restrict access to trusted users only.
