DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been discovered in SyndeoCMS, which can be
exploited by malicious users to conduct script insertion and SQL
injection attacks.

1) Input passed via the "email" POST parameter to starnet/index.php
(when "option" is set to "configuration", "suboption" is set to
"users", "modoption" is set to "save_user", and "user_id" is set to a
valid ID) is not properly sanitised in the "sanitize()" function in
starnet/core/common_inc.php before being used. This can be exploited
to insert arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in a
user's browser session in context of an affected site when the
malicious data is being viewed.

2) Input passed via the "newsletter_email" POST parameter (when
editing the "SyndeoCMS Options" configuration) to starnet/index.php
is not properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can
be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL
code.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability requires access rights
to the "SyndeoCMS Options" configuration section and
"magic_quotes_gpc" to be disabled.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 3.0.01. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 3.0.02.
