DESCRIPTION:
Two vulnerabilities have been reported in libzip, which can be
exploited by malicious people to cause a DoS (Denial of Service) and
potentially compromise an application using the library.

1) An error in the "_zip_readcdir()" function (zip_open.c) when
processing the number of directory entries can be exploited to cause
a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted ZIP file.

2) An integer overflow error in the "_zip_readcdir()" function
(zip_open.c) when handling the size and the offset of the central
directory structure can be exploited to reference memory outside of
the allocated buffer via a specially crafted ZIP file.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities may allow execution of
arbitrary code.

The vulnerabilities are reported in versions prior to 0.10.1.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 0.10.1.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Reported by the vendor.
