DESCRIPTION:
Andrea Micalizzi has discovered a security issue and a vulnerability
in Lenovo ThinkManagement Console, which can be exploited by
malicious people to manipulate certain data and compromise a user's
system.

1) The ServerSetup web service
(/landesk/managementsuite/core/core.anonymous/ServerSetup.asmx)
allows unauthenticated access to certain SOAP-based operations and
can be exploited to upload an arbitrary file to the web root via the
"-PutUpdateFileCore" command in a "RunAMTCommand" operation.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows execution of
arbitrary code.

2) An input validation error in the VulCore web service
(/WSVulnerabilityCore/VulCore.asmx) when processing certain
SOAP-based operations can be exploited to delete an arbitrary file
via directory traversal sequences passed in the "filename" parameter
to the "SetTaskLogByFile" operation.

The security issue and the vulnerability are confirmed in version
9.0.3. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict access to trusted hosts only.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
