DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in KnowledgeTree, which can be
exploited by malicious users to bypass certain security
restrictions.

When uploading documents using the Web Service Document Upload
Manager the "ktwebservice/KTUploadManager.inc.php" script does not
properly verify the temporary file name of an uploaded file before
saving it. This can be exploited to save the uploaded file to a
folder outside the "var/uploads" directory.

Successful exploitation requires authentication using SOAP or REST
Web Services APIs.

The security issue is reported in versions 3.7.0.2, 3.6.x, and 3.5.x.

SOLUTION:
Apply vendor patch. Please see the vendors advisory for more
details.
