TITLE:
sudo "sudoedit" Privilege Escalation Security Issue

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA38659

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/38659/

DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in sudo, which can be exploited by
malicious, local users to gain escalated privileges.

The security issue is caused due to an error when handling the
"sudoedit" command, which can be exploited to execute arbitrary code
with root privileges.

Successful exploitation requires that the attacker has "sudoedit"
permissions and that the "sudoedit" command is not specified with
it's full path in the sudoers file.

SOLUTION:
Update to versions 1.6.9p21 and 1.7.2p4 or apply patches.
