TITLE:
Best Top List Arbitrary File Upload and Cross-Site Scripting
Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA37935

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/37935/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Best Top List, which can
be exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks or compromise a vulnerable system.

1) The banner-upload.php script allows the upload of files with
arbitrary extensions to a folder inside the webroot. This can be
exploited to execute arbitrary PHP code by uploading a PHP file.

2) Input passed to the "url" parameter in out.php is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.11. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Restrict access to the banner-upload.php script (e.g. via .htaccess).
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
