The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the "M_AddToServerList()" function in client/menu.c. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted UDP packet sent to port 27901. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerability is reported in version 7.30. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 7.31 or later.
