The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error within the "Win32AddConnection()" function in modules/access/smb.c. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer overflow by e.g. tricking a user into opening a playlist file having an overly long "smb://" URI. Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code. NOTE: The vulnerability affects Windows builds only. The vulnerability is confirmed in version 0.9.9.
