The vulnerabilities are caused due to the web interface allowing users to perform certain actions via HTTP requests without performing any validity checks to verify the requests. This can be exploited to e.g. change the download directory and add new torrent files to the download queue. The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.60. SOLUTION: Update to version 1.53 and 1.61. http://www.transmissionbt.com/index.php PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY: Mike Bailey ORIGINAL ADVISORY: http://skeptikal.org/2009/05/owning-ubuntu-with-csrf.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- About: This Advisory was delivered by Secunia as a free service to help everybody keeping their systems up to date against the latest vulnerabilities.
