Nucleus Kernel Recovery for Macintosh ".AMHH" Buffer Overflow

DESCRIPTION:
AbdulAziz Hariri has discovered a vulnerability in Nucleus Kernel
Recovery for Macintosh, which can be exploited by malicious people to
compromise a user's system.

The vulnerability is caused due to a boundary error in the processing
of .AMHH files. This can be exploited to cause a stack-based buffer
overflow when a user is enticed to open a specially crafted .AMHH
file.

Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 4.04. Other versions may
also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Do not open untrusted .AMHH files.
