TITLE:
Pixie CMS SQL Injection and Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerabilities

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA34364

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/34364/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been discovered in Pixie CMS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting or SQL
injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "x" parameter in index.php (when "s" is set to
"blog" and "m" is set to "permalink") is not properly sanitised before
being returned to the user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary
HTML and script code in a user's browser session in the context of an
affected site.

2) Input passed via the "Referer" HTTP header to the "referral()"
function in admin/lib/lib_logs.php is not properly sanitised before
being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL
queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

3) Input passed to the "x" parameter in index.php (when "s" is set to
"blog" and "m" is set to "permalink") is not properly sanitised before
being used in SQL queries. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL
queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 1.01a. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.

PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
1, 2) Justin C. Klein Keane.
3) An anonymous person.
