Click here to learn more: http://secunia.com/advisories/business_solutions/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: D-Bus Default Configuration Security Bypass SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA33047 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/33047/ CRITICAL: Less critical IMPACT: Security Bypass WHERE: Local system SOFTWARE: D-Bus 1.x http://secunia.com/advisories/product/12896/ DESCRIPTION: A security issue has been reported in D-Bus, which can be exploited by malicious, local users to bypass certain security restrictions. The security issue is caused due to the default configuration incorrectly setting the "send_requested_reply" and "receive_requested_reply" rules. This can be exploited to send and receive messages, which were intended to be blocked. SOLUTION: The send side permissions are fixed in version 1.2.6. Add explicit deny rules as a workaround for the request side.
