SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA33040

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/33040/

CRITICAL:
Highly critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, System access

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
TWiki
http://secunia.com/advisories/product/4248/

DESCRIPTION:
Some vulnerabilities have been reported in TWiki, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting attacks
or compromise a vulnerable system.

1) Input passed to the "URLPARAM" TWiki variable is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.

2) Input passed to the "SEARCH" parameter is not properly sanitised
before being used in an "eval()" call. This can be exploited to
inject and execute commands via specially crafted HTTP GET requests
containing the backtick operator.

SOLUTION:
Update to version 4.2.4.
