Less critical

IMPACT:

SOFTWARE:
CS-Cart 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/10325/

DESCRIPTION:
sasquatch has discovered a vulnerability in CS-Cart, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting
attacks.

Input passed to the "q" parameter in index.php (when "mode" is set to
"search") is not properly sanitised before being returned to the user.
This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a
user's browser session in context of an affected site.

Successful exploitation requires that the target user uses certain
browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer 6).

The vulnerability is confirmed in version 1.3.5-SP2 trial edition and
reported in version 1.3.2. Other versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
