CRITICAL:

IMPACT:

WHERE:

SOFTWARE:
HB-NS 1.x
http://secunia.com/product/9656/

DESCRIPTION:
Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has reported some vulnerabilities in HB-NS,
which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script
insertion or SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "poster_name", "poster_email",
"poster_homepage", and "message" parameters is not properly sanitised
before being used. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and
script code in a user's browser session in context of an affected site
when malicious data is viewed.

2) Input passed to the "topic" and "id" parameters in index.php is
not properly sanitised before being used in SQL queries. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

Successful exploitation requires that "magic_quotes_gpc" is
disabled.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 1.1.6. Other
versions may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
