TITLE: Amaya Attribute Value Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA19670 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/19670/ CRITICAL: Highly critical IMPACT: System access WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: Amaya 9.x http://secunia.com/product/9356/ DESCRIPTION: Thomas Waldegger has discovered two vulnerabilities in Amaya, which can be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system. The vulnerabilities are caused due to boundary errors within the parsing of various attribute values. This can be exploited to cause stack-based buffer overflows when a user opens a specially crafted HTML document containing certain tags with overly long attribute values. Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code. The vulnerabilities have been confirmed in version 9.4. Prior versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Update to version 9.5.
