TITLE: SmE GB Host Username SQL Injection Vulnerability SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA18823 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/18823/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: SmE GB Host 1.x http://secunia.com/product/7949/ DESCRIPTION: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has reported a vulnerability in SmE GB Host, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct SQL injection attacks. Input passed to the username field in "/sme_admin/login.php" isn't properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code. Successful exploitation allows login to the admin interface without password but requires that the username of the admin user is known and that "magic_quotes_gpc" is disabled. The vulnerability has been reported in version 1.21. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
