TITLE: Clever Copy HTTP Headers Script Insertion Vulnerabilities SECUNIA ADVISORY ID: SA18790 VERIFY ADVISORY: http://secunia.com/advisories/18790/ CRITICAL: Moderately critical IMPACT: Cross Site Scripting WHERE: >From remote SOFTWARE: Clever Copy 2.x http://secunia.com/product/5445/ Clever Copy 3.x http://secunia.com/product/7899/ DESCRIPTION: Aliaksandr Hartsuyeu has reported two vulnerabilities in Clever Copy, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct script insertion attacks. Input passed to the "Referer" and "X-Forwarded-For" HTTP headers isn't properly sanitised before being used. This can be exploited to inject arbitrary HTML and script code, which will be executed in an administrator's browser session in context of an affected site when the malicious user data is viewed via the statistics functionality. The vulnerabilities have been reported in versions 3.0, 2.0, and 2.0a. Other versions may also be affected. SOLUTION: Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
