DESCRIPTION:
Piotr Bania has reported a vulnerability in SoftICE, which can be
exploited by malicious, local users to cause a DoS (Denial of
Service).

The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the DbgMsg.sys driver
and can be exploited via a specially crafted "int 2dh" call with an
invalid debug message pointer.

Successful exploitation crashes the system and does not require that
SoftICE is active.

The vulnerability has been reported in SoftICE included in
DriverStudio versions 3.1 and 3.2. Other versions may also be
affected.

SOLUTION:
Grant only trusted users access to affected systems.
