TITLE:
Valdersoft Shopping Cart Cross-Site Scripting and SQL Injection

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA14719

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/14719/

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
Valdersoft Shopping Cart 3.x
http://secunia.com/product/4844/

DESCRIPTION:
Diabolic Crab has reported some vulnerabilities in Valdersoft
Shopping Cart, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct
cross-site scripting and SQL injection attacks.

1) Input passed to the "id", "lang", "searchQuery" and
"searchTopCategoryID" parameters isn't properly sanitised before
being used in a SQL query. This can be exploited to manipulate SQL
queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) Input passed to the "lang" parameter in "index.php" and the
"searchTopCategoryID" parameter in "search_result.php" isn't properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities have been reported in version 3.0. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised.
